Dark and Light

Shi
"Amazing! You've never been able to do that! It kept falling before!" I said, staring with awe. I heard a wail by the window. I looked out to see the dragon flying around freely with glee, letting out the wail of happiness.

Mia
"Hey what was that?" I looked at Shi. "You didn't make that noise, did you?"

Shi
"Huh? No! Look!" I said, pointing outside of the window.

Mia
I gasped. "What's it doing?" I had never paid attention in class when they taught us about dragons.

Shi
"I don't know. I think it's happy. Or maybe it's just flying around because there aren't many peering eyes. They did say in class that dragons are cautious of too many people looking at them, and they choose few people to trust." I stated, watching the dragon elegantly fly in loops.

Mia
I shrugged, testing out experiments with my wand. "Expecto Patronum!" I said. My patronus galloped out, stronger and powerful then ever before. It was glowing very brightly.

Shi
"Woah! Now you'll definitely be safe from the dementors!" I said. "Though I guess you should go to sleep. It's still nighttime." I said.

Mia
I nodded, and sleepily fell asleep on my bed.

.:Morning, 6:50:.
I got up that morning. I got up, the memories of the night before still fresh in my mind. I changed my hair to a frizzy, short, light turquoise, and my eyes to a blue color, then changed into my clothes and left for the great hall before anyone else had time to wake up.

Because it was so early, there was only a couple people in the great hall. Everyone was on the staff table of course. Dumbledore smiled knowledgeably at me when I entered. I noticed Shi already sitting at the Hufflepuff table, talking with the couple people already there. I got some pancakes and pumpkin juice and sat down, devouring the pancakes hungrily. "Hi Shi!" I said with my mouth full.

Shi
"Have you no manners? Finish swallowing then speak!" I said at her. Then I smiled. "Just kidding, but you should learn you manners missy. Anywho, Good morning!" I greeted with a grin.

Mia
I swallowed. "What?" I said. "I do that all the time, and so does everyone else! Anyway, I have Defense Against The Dark Arts. With Professor Lupin."

((Lupin is really the most awesomesauce teacher in the world. "Lupin's a wonderful teacher and a very nice man but he has a failing and his failing is that he does like to be liked and that's where he slips up because he has been disliked so often that he's always so pleased to have friends so he cuts them an awful lot of slack."))

Shi
"Cool!" I said with a smile.

((Nah. That's at the first Quidditch match - that's a sport. I'll explain later. ))
Mia
I finished breakfast and headed to my first class. I headed off to Professor Lupin's class. "Today," he said. "I am going to teach you about boggarts."

Shi, Tiger Form
I opened my jaws widely in a yawn. "What do you wanna do now? Play around with your wand? Prepare for the Quidditch game coming up?" I asked.

Mia
"Oh yeah! I have a broom!" I said as I remembered the smooth, mysterious broom I had gotten. "Even if I'm not on the house Quidditch team, I can still play! Or at least try out for keeper or seeker or something."

Shi
"Alright!" I said, turning into a tiny fairy. "Let's practice! I'll be the ball!" I grinned, flying to the Quidditch field.

Mia
"You mean the snitch!" I called after her. "We still need the Quaffle! And more people to play! You know, seeker, keeper, beater, the works."

Shi
"Hey, it's just practice you know! Just try to catch me!" I said, flying off like the snitch. She was never able to catch me before!

Mia
Summoning my broom with my newly acquired wand, I took off like the wind. Within a second, I had caught up with Shi.

Shi
I looked wide eyed at her. She was extremely fast now! I started to go in zig zags and tricky patterns to avoid her hand.

Mia
I laughed. "No use, Shi." I said, catching her.

Shi
"Aww, dang! That was the first time ever you caught me!" I pouted. A sudden wail interrupted our little quarrel.

Opal
I wailed and appeared in front of Mia, staring sternly into her eyes.

Mia
"Woah!" I took an automatic step backward.

((Step? They're in air!))

Opal
I kept that stern look on Mia, saying nothing.

Shi
It's that dragon! I thought. "Uh-um... Mia! That's the dragon that took your wand!" I said.

Opal
I snarled at Shi. I glanced back at Mia once and took off once again.

((Oh. I thought they had landed already. ))
Mia
"What...?" I shook my head to clear it. "So.... um... why?"

Shi
"I don't know. Maybe it's the one that powered it up?" I said.
