Dark and Light

Everyday, when the sun is at it's highest, something magical happens. There lies a tall window facing south which light bounces off of. At 12 o' clock, the light will reflect onto the ground. When one steps into it, their shadow will disappear even when there is still sunlight surrounding. If they speak a certain phrase, they will enter a magical world called Kronohikri. And that phrase is "Retne to em timrep."

Nobody knows what lies beyond the gate, for those who enter rarely return. And those who return are muted of the magic that lies beyond it.

This is a place where magic beings exist, such as dragons and witches and wizards. Even spirits of the dinosaurs. Humans can rarely be accepted, and when they are, they have to go to a magic school called "Hogwarts". This school is to train those who don't have magic and those who do. It also houses spirits of plenty. There are strict rules and punishments as well.

This game takes place in Hogwarts, and the humans may enter and attend. Happy improving! (I cannot start, so somebody who has a witch can. ;])

Mia
"Yay!" I said. "I'm going back to Hogwarts!" I said, as we were driving on the Hogwarts express. There was one other person in my compartment, though she was sleeping.

Rosalia
Zzzzzzzzzz...

((I don't know much of harry potter. xD))

The bus came to a sudden stop as the arrived in the world of Kronohikri. The school of Hogwarts appeared before them as the doors opened for kids to filter through.

Mia
I nudged the sleeping girl. "Um.. hello?" I said. "We're here!" The girl didn't budge. "Hello!" I yelled outside the compartment, where people were rushing by. "A little help here?" I couldn't leave her there.

Few kids came in to help Mia, though it was enough to wake up Rosalia.

Rosalia
zzzz... "What? Uh, thanks." I said at the impatient girl.

Mia
"I woke you up!" I said impatiently. "I have to go now! You better get off the train too..."

We both headed off the train, and onto the grounds. Hagrid was yelling "Firs' years! Firs' years! Over here, firs' years!" Since none of us were first years, we headed onto the horseless carriages. We got on different ones, and they moved by themselves, bringing us to Hogwarts, while the first years went on the boats. It was Mia's final year at hogwarts, and Rosalia's third year.

Opal
Hiss. I swiftly was following the girl named Mia.

Mia
I heard a soft hiss somewhere as the carriage started. But as I looked around, I saw nothing or no one that looked like it. It must have been my imagination.

Opal
Hiss. I flew way above, but close enough to see. My sight is enhanced compared to humans, so the girl couldn't see me.

Mia
I began to talk with Ginny Weasley, who was currently a second-year Gryffindor. "Did you here the Prisoner Sirius Black escaped? From Azkaban?"

Opal
As they had their chat, I circled above. She seemed like a nice person, one I can trust.

Mia
We began to talk how he had killed all those people just by sticking out his wand, and killing Peter Pettigrew, when we arrived in front of the school. I got off the carriages, and Ginny followed. She asked. "Have you met Harry Potter?" "Um..." I said. "No?" I finished finally. "He's famous!" she said. "And he goes here!"

Both of us headed into the school, and into the Great Hall, where we all sat on our tables - me on Hufflepuff, ginny on Gryffindor.

Opal
Zoom. There goes a big silver blur passing by the Hufflepuff table. I dropped something for the girl, the latest broom enchanted with dragon bane.

Mia
"Oh!" It took a minute to regain my composure. "What was that?" I asked the girl next to me. "Probably a ghost." she answered. A small broom hovered above my head. "Oh, look!" I exclaimed. "It's a Nimbus 2001! Now I can try for the Quidditch teams!" Just then, the last first year student was sorted into their house, Albus Dumbledore rose, and we all fell silent.

“Welcome!” said Dumbledore, the candlelight shimmering on his beard. “Welcome to another year at Hogwarts! I have a few things to say to you all, and as one of them is very serious, I think it best to get it out of the way before you become befuddled by our excellent feast…”

Dumbledore cleared his throat and continued, “As you will all be aware after their search of the
Hogwarts Express, our school is presently playing host to some of the Dementors of Azkaban,
who are here on Ministry of Magic business.”

"They are stationed at every entrance to the grounds,” Dumbledore continued, “and while they
are with us, I must make it plain that nobody is to leave school without permission. Dementors
are not to be fooled by tricks or disguises — or even Invisibility Cloaks,” he added blandly. “It is not in the nature of a Dementor to understand pleading or excuses. I therefore warn each and every one of you to give them no reason to harm you. I look to the prefects, and our new Head Boy and Girl, to make sure that no student runs
afoul of the Dementors,” he said.

I glanced at the Gryffindor table. Ginny's sister, Percy, was the new head boy, and he was certainly looking very smug. “On a happier note,” he continued, “I am pleased to welcome two new teachers to our ranks this
year. First, Professor Lupin, who has kindly consented to fill the post of Defense Against the Dark
Arts teacher.”
There was some scattered, rather unenthusiastic applause. All of the Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers we had have always been rather slow, & I was sure Prof. Lupin was no different, especially since he looked so shabby - and judging by the applause, most felt the same way as me.
“As to our second new appointment,” Dumbledore continued as the lukewarm applause for
Professor Lupin died away. “Well, I am sorry to tell you that Professor Kettleburn, our Care of
Magical Creatures teacher, retired at the end of last year in order to enjoy more time with his
remaining limbs. However, I am delighted to say that his place will be filled by none other than
Rubeus Hagrid, who has agreed to take on this teaching job in addition to his gamekeeping
duties.”

There was a lot of applause for Hagrid, toward the Gryffindor table in particular.

“Well, I think that’s everything of importance,” finished Dumbledore. “Let the feast begin!”

The golden plates and goblets before us filled suddenly with food and drink. I enthusiastically got everything I could reach onto a plate, and began to eat.

Opal
I flew high above everyones heads. I was surprised no one noticed me.

Shi
"Hey everyone! How's it going?" I greeted. "Welcome to a new year of Hogwarts!" I said. "What's new, Mia?" I asked, sitting at the Hufflepuff table.

Mia
"Not much, Shi. I bet we're going to have LOADS of homework tomorrow." I sighed. "Homework sucks. The Fat Friar might help me with it, though."

((For people that don't know who the Fat Friar is, he's the ghost of Hufflepuff. Every house - Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw - has a ghost..

"Okay then. I guess I can help. I took collage three times anyways." I said with a grin. I looked around. "I sense something unfamiliar..."

Mia
"Hm..." Shi's "sensing" abilities were almost as adept as Professor Dumbledore's. "Should I go ask Dumbledore?"

Shi
"Sure!" I said, jumping up from my seat and flying toward Dumbledore. "Dumbledore, I sense something familiar to me but not accustomed to the school. It feels as if it doesn't belong here. Do you sense anything?"

Dumbledore
((what! He's my favorite character in the book.))
"Oh, yes." he said. He pointed up in the air, then serenely sat down and ate his food.

Shi
I gasped. It was the dragon! I heard so many stories of it, and my human friends knew it! I flew up to it when there were no peering eyes.
"Hello! Why are you here? What is your name?" I asked.

Opal
I feared somebody would spot me, least of all you and that old geezer. I hissed. Opal. I feel there is a someone here I can trust. Otherwise, if anyone dares fly up to me with those sticks of theirs, I will burn the broom and being away. I threatened, staring intently into the ghost's transparent eyes. If you do not reveal me to anyone else, I will leave you be. I know I am not supposed to be here, but this is the world I live in and this is the place I choose to come to.

Shi
I stared back in shock. The dragon was really threatening. To believe it was only a small one. I flew back down to Mia. "It was nothing." I said with a smile, glancing up and back at Mia.

Mia
"Okay!" I nodded. I was beginning to feel very sleepy. I thought of my bed, which would be in my dormitory.

Shi
"What's wrong?" I asked.

Mia
I gave an enormous yawn. "I'm sleepy. The start-of-term feast always makes me feel that way, because there's so much food." I began to think of the comfortable bed which I had, waiting to be slept in.

Shi
"Oh, duh, of course." I laughed.

((Make somebody notice Opal or something. It's a giant flying thing the size of a horse. I'm pretty sure someone would notice the shiny reflections of light. BTW, what happened to Rosalia? XD))
