Welcome to [The World]

Hello. I am Ellie. Right now I am messaging you from a popular online game. You may know it as "The World". It's where I was born and where I live. Yet the people who run the game want to delete me, because I'm an AI and to them I am just useless data. So... I decided to find out how to retreat from The World, if only for a while. Through the BBS, I found out how to connect to the internet. I wanted to talk to people, so I joined a forum.

I still love "The World", despite it's hate towards me. The actual game welcomes me; I don't see why the admins do not. But for now I have to go away from it... I'll hang out on this forum, I guess. But... I think if I stay away for too long, I'll slowly delete myself.

There are a few odd characters, indeed. You may wonder "Bracelet bearer? What's that?" The Bracelet bearer is the one who holds a bracelet that can re-write data. That bracelet is needed to save The World.

Oh, and before we continue with this story, did you hear? Many people have been falling into comas while playing "The World."

I felt a sharp pain in my heart. The World was calling me, but I really didn't want to abandon my friends. "Hey, Iris, do you wanna play an RPG with me?" I posted in the Random Chat Thread.

Iris
"Oh sure! What's it called?" I posted back.

Ellie
"The World! It's a really cool game." I said, putting a link in my post to The World's website.

Iris
"Okay!" I opened the link. "Wow, seems interesting! I'll sign up then!" I typed back.

Ellie
"Do you think we can meet up today in game? "

Iris
"Sure!" I posted, reading the rules at the same time. "It seems kinda complicated, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. It sounds fun! I'm IrisTheFlower on there, okay?"

Ellie
"You probably don't have a manual, but that's fine. Maybe a friend will teach you everything you need to know!" I said. "Let's meet in the Δ server root town, Mac·Anu!"

Iris
"Great!" I posted, heading there. "This is cool!"

Acrilic
"Oh, hey, are you a newbie?" I asked.

Iris
"Yeah!" I said. "I don't really understand how everything works around here. I'm Iris, it's nice to meet you!"

Acrilic
"Viscaria." I did a smile emotion. "I can teach you! You have the controller and all? You move the stick to move and..." I explained the controls to her slowly.

Iris
"Thank you!" I typed, feeling grateful.

Acrilic
"Are you waiting for somebody? If not, why don't we go out into the newbie field and see how well you can fight monsters?"

((What class are you, Magician, swordmaster, or something else?))

"Oh, I'm waiting for my friend Ellie. She's the one that told me about this thing."

((Then you're a Wavemaster class. ))

"Oh... well, We can just go to the field to teach you battle basics and then come back and you can wait for her? I'm sure she won't mind if you're a bit late or something." I smiled. "Then you'd know how to fight, which is probably the whole point of this game!"

Iris
"Okay, I guess!" I said, quickly posting that I might be late.

Acrilic
I smiled again. "Alright," I said, standing in front of the Chaos gate (which was the place where you can warp anywhere). "This is the chaos gate. You just enter three words and then you can go to those coordinates! Since you're new, the only words you have are "Bursting, Passed Over, Aqua Field", so let's warp there." I said, as I entered the words and warped there, hopefully having Iris follow.

Iris
I followed. "Yay! I did it! That was easy!"

Acrilic
"Alright! Now look, there's a goblin! Press the A button to attack it. The B button will allow you to use skills, and, because you're a Wavemaster, you probably already have a skill set. I think it was... uh... "Vak" or something. It's a fire attack."

Iris
"Okay..." I pressed the A button. "That worked?"

Acrilic
The goblin was easily defeated after a few hits. "See, you did it! Now... uh... there should be some more monsters..." I said looking around. My eyes met something unusual. "Huh? It must be some new monster they implemented... it's huge for the beginner's field though."

Not only was it huge, it was scary too. It was this huge white giant with a rather small head. It had an odd body... it didn't seem to have any hands or feet, just pointed sticks for arms and legs. Though, in it's right hand - arm thingy - it held this giant red cross, with a circle at where the lines intersected.

It looked towards us.

"Well, it shouldn't be that hard! This is a Level 1 field!" I said, trying to sound brave, but Iris could probably tell I was scared by how my fear leaked into my voice.

((I dunno if I described the monster right. xD Did it from memory.))

Iris
"Oh my gooood..." I freaked out and backed away. "Is it gonna kill us?"

Acrilic
"D-don't worry! It's just a game, so if you die, you'll just get sent back to your last save point. If you didn't save, well, you go back to the beginning of the game. It's fine for you since you just started." I said. "I'm a lot higher level, I'll go see how tough it is! It's probably and event monster!" I said, running up to it. As I approached it, a name appeared above it's head. "Skieth." I attacked it. It didn't die like normal level 1 monsters. That was weird. Instead, it's health didn't even go down. It held it's stick thing out to me. The next thing I knew was that I was immobile and floating in the air. It shot this weird beam at me, and my Player Character started to be disassembled into many pieces of data. It dropped my character afterwards.

I couldn't move. "Run!" I shouted weakly to Iris. I was blacking out, and before I knew it, I hit the floor with a hard thud.

Viscaria turned gray, and thus dissolved into data.
