Are your pets more than they seem?

When you feed your pets, do you think they care? When you talk to them, do you think they listen? When you hold your pets, do you think they feel loved? Most importantly, do you know them as much as they know you?

This is a story about what seems like normal pets are more than that. The owners find out things extraordinary! Their snake is a dragon, their cat is super intelligent, their dog did their homework! The thing is, what are the pets, exactly?

I cannot start, for we need an owner and I'm mainly playing pets.

Serena
I petted my housecat, Mimi. It was her birthday tomorrow, and I was trying to figure out what to give her.

Sabrina
"Hi, Mimi." I said. "What should we give you?"

Serena
"Sometimes it feels like she can actually understand us." I said.

Mimi
I purred as the twins scratched me behind my ears. I stared at them as they asked the question about my gift, but I just meowed and sat down, licking my paw.

Serena
"You know, she doesn't really use it when we give her yarn or anything."

Sabrina
"And it's not like we can get her all groomed up or anything - since she doesn't like that very much. Would you, Mimi?" I added.

Serena
"We could though..." I said. "I mean, she does look pretty messy."

Mimi
I hissed. No way was I getting groomed! I'll go with yarn, a bath maybe, but never a groom.

Serena
Not noticing the hiss, I called my mom. "Yo, mom! Can we get Mimi groomed please?"

Jessica
"All right!" I called back. "Where?"

Serena
"Anywhere is fine, I guess. Or we can just get some stuff and do it at home. And maybe get a cute little pink hat!" I smiled at the thought of Mimi wearing a pink hat.

Mimi
I gagged at the thought. Pink? Come on. Purple would be nicer. I pushed my food bowl towards Sabrina and looked up at her as I sat down.

Sabrina
"To be honest, Serena, I don't think she's all that into the idea." I said, trying to conceal my laughter at the thought of Mimi wearing a pink hat.

Serena
"Well, do you have any other ideas?"

Sabrina
"No...." I admitted. I petted Mimi on the head. "What shall we give you? Do you want a trim?" I asked.

Mimi
I seemed to shrug. A trim was better than a groom. I pushed the bowl a little more with my paw. I was hungry.

Serena
"You hungry?" I asked Mimi. "Go get some cat food!" I said to Bri.

Mimi
I sat patiently as they pulled the cat food out. I scratched my ear. It was a bit boring. Where were the mice around the house when you need some action?

Sabrina
I recognized that Mimi was getting bored. "Mimi, you know there's a mouse or a rat, or a rodent, or something - in the garage, right?" I said, even though I assumed she couldn't understand me.

Mimi
I perked up at the thought. I was bored and the rat could be food, why not? I ran to the garage where I saw a scurrying rodent run across the floor. I tackled it with glee.

((Can Eliza have Shi? I can't imagine her having a snake.))

Sabrina
"Hey, did she understand me?" I thought aloud.

((Yep. I'll put her in the first post. Start interacting with the bunny. <3))

Eliza
"It's nice to meet you!" I said to my new bunny.

Shi
I stared at the girl with my crystal blue eyes. She seemed nice, but i wanted to play a little. I hopped out of her hands and stared hopping around her house.

Mimi
I came back with the remains of my meal, throwing it in the small trash can. I sat down in content.

Eliza
I stared at the bunny for a moment. "Mother, the bunny ran away from me! May I run and catch it?"
"Yes, dear." she answered.
I sighed and began to run after it. "Hello, my dear bunny, may you please come back here? I have not named you yet!" I said, rolling my eyes. "Good, dear," came my mum's vague voice from the kitchen.

Sabrina
I laughed. "Serena, did you see that? Mimi threw the remains in the trash can! Isn't that utterly human-like?"

Serena
"Oh, wow! That's cool! Did you train her to do that?"

Sabrina
"I thought you did! Oh well, I guess she's just naturally smart. "Aren't you, Mimi?"

((Hm... who shall have the snake? Not Iris - there's NO way she's getting a SNAKE for her birthday. And today is my birthday. ))

Mimi
I scratched my ear plainly as if I were ignoring them. They were going to find out sooner or later, but oh well.

Shi
I decided to hop around until she named me. It was fun exploring somewhere unknown.

Eliza
"Oh dear mother, our new bunny is out of control." I said. "It's out of our hands, darling!" came my mother's voice from the kitchen. "What shall I name you? I shall name you... Mother! Is it a girl or a boy?" I called. "I am not sure, darling." came the reply.

Sabrina
"So what should we do for her birthday?" I asked Serena.

Serena
"No clue." I said.

I'll make Alex own Opal. She'll be the twins' friends so I can interact with you.))

Shi
I started to hop up flight of stairs. I couldn't go as fast. She might catch up to me!

Alex
I knocked on the door with Opal around my neck, looking asleep. "Hello? It's Alex!"

Mimi
I turned around and ran towards the door, jumping up and turning the doorknob to twirl to make the door open. I stared up at Alex with a grin and ran back to Serena and Sabrina.

Serena
"Yo, Alex!" I said. "What's up?"

Eliza
"Oh, dear! Dear, dear!" I said, running after the bunny.

Alex
"I got this new snake!" I said with a grin. "Isn't it cool?"

Mimi
I jumped up and try to bat at the snake. "Are you awake?" I asked in my cat language.

Opal
I slowly opened my eyes and slithered down to the feline, using Alex's arm as a bridge. I stared at the tiger-like cat.

Mimi
"Woah! It moved!" I joked. "Name's Mimi. Yours?" I meowed.

Opal
I stayed silent for awhile. The cat looked at me curiously, as if she wondered if I could speak. After a moment, I said "Opal."

Shi
Dear? Is that my name? I wondered as I went up another flight of stairs. This house was really big! This could go on for a while.
