Out of Hiding

Iris
"That one. The other one's mine."

Rin
I examined it. "It looks completely fine." I said. "Try again."

Iris
"Sav, try again." She obidiently pushed the button, and shrugged. "See? Nothing."

Rin
"That's odd." I said, puzzled.

Miku
"Let me see." I examined it. "That fuel doesn't work. It's not strong enough to propel it up."

Iris
"Wait... are all the pods on the same fuel?"

Rin
"Huh? Yes..." I said, coming to a realization. "That means none of us can go back up..."

Iris
"We could see if there was something on earth we could use for fuel..."

Miku
"But that'd be extremely hard for you to get." I said. "We don't dig up fuel like you humans did ages ago."

Iris
"Something else. Lemme see if there's anything in my textbook..."

Amy
"Miku, what's that?"

Miku
"It's called a textbook. People record information in them, or read information out of them." I said. She seemed awed. "Why don't you just stay down here?"

Iris
"We have to get supplies for everyone! Ooh, I have an idea, what about we contact someone up there and get them to try and fix the fuel, and then send a pod down for us so we can get back up?"

Rin
"But to fix the fuel, they'd need to be down here to get the fuel that works."

Iris
"G'point..."

Rin
"I myself don't know how to get the fuel." I said. "Besides... I think I want to stay down here anyways."

Iris
"But they'll run outta supplies up there! And all my friends are up there! A-and.."

Rin
"Then why not get a lot of people down here? At least... all the ones that can walk."

Iris
"But what about the ones that can't walk and all the technology up there?"

Rin
"We can see if earth is inhabitable again, and then we can send everyone down here."

Iris
"Yeah but.."

Rin
"But what?"

Iris
"Guess it's fine."

Rin
"It sure does look inhabitable. Should we ask the captain to send people down?"

Iris
"All of them?"

Rin
"Some of them."

Iris
"'All of them' won't fit in the pods."
