Out of Hiding

"So... why do you live in space if you are going to die?"

Iris
"If we came back down then people would be all like... well we wouldn't fit in, plus we might cause global warming again."

Amy
"Glo...bal warming?"

Iris
"Yeeah, in which the earth like warms up and we all diiie."

Amy
"Will not happen." I said simply.

Iris
"It was gonnna...."

Rin
"Iris, are you sending the children up?"

Iris
"Right. Yeaaah." I said. "They have to go back up to the station."

Melody
"Aww! I don't wanna go back to the station!"

Savannah
"No! Let's follow Iris! She's a big kid! She knows what to do!"

Iris
"Riiiighht..." I said. "C'mon, let's go back."

Rin
"Tell me when you launch their pod, so we can let them in."

Iris
"Okay." I answered. We soon reached the spot. "Okaaaaay," I entered the pod and ushered them in, then quickly climbed out. "Press the big green button, guys."

Savannah
I pressed the button.

Nothing happened.

Iris
"What the --- ohhh..." I closed the pod door and gave them a thumbs up from the window.

Savannah
I pressed the button again. The pod remained on the ground, still as ever.

Iris
"Hey Rin, how do you relaunch a pod?"

Rin
"Press the button, how else? Why?"

Iris
"It's not relaunching..." I cast a glance at the pod. "Tell her nothing happens when I press it!" said Savannah's muffled voice from inside the pod nervously.

Rin
"How come? Do you know?"

Iris
"No, otherwise I would tell you..."

Rin
"See if that's the pod without much fuel." I said.

Iris
"How do I check?"

Rin
"It should be in the back. There's a panel."

Iris
I examined the back. "Found it."

Rin
"Is the tank full?"

"The little bar is pretty much up to the top. It's in the green section."

Rin
"That's odd... try again."

Iris
"Press it again guys..." I mouthed to them from the window.

Savannah
I pressed the green button again. It wasn't working.

Rin
"That's weird. Here, I'll come down." I said. I turned to the commander. "Is it fine if I go down? The little girls are stuck down there and their pod isn't working."

Commander
I nodded. "Just make sure they can come back."

Iris
"Wait - you're coming down?"

Rin
"Yes. First, I'm the only one who knows how to repair the space pod. Second, it's an excuse to see Miku." I said, staying serious. I went into my own space pod.

I soon entered the atmosphere. I heard a rather odd crack, but I ignored it. Soon I arrived. I came out. I examined my surroundings.

"Wow..." It was lush green and perfect, like something you'd see in one of those Hollywood movies. It was truly something... no wonder why Miku had stayed down. She knew she could have repaired the earth to... this. I looked at Iris. "Which pod is it?"
