More Language Arts Help?
Same warm-ups as last time. Yep.... I especially need help on the two last. I just need to add a lot more detail. If you could help, I'd be really thankful.
What would happen if there were no television? Why would this be good? Bad?
There would be a lot of things that would happen if there was no television. Television is a popular source of entertainment for so many people, adults and children alike. It is also a source for news, local news, and sometimes things that are happening locally wouldn’t be able to be shown.
For example, I was living in San Diego when the recent San Diego fires happened. On the Sunday before they had started, it had looked like there was a lot of smoke, and it had smelled like smoke too, but our family had just assumed it was fog. The next morning, it was still there, so my dad turned on the news, and we found out they had closed the highway I used to get to school, and there had been a fire.
But it might be better if we didn’t have TV as well because children wouldn’t be distracted by it, and it would be a break for them. However, they might still get distracted by other things.
What if all the streets were rivers? What would be different?
Well, for starters, everyone would probably go around on boats. Boats might be like cars - there might be different versions, and more focus on it. There might be a speed limit on the boats, and then there might be companies that make boats, and the companies that make cars such as Toyota and stuff might start making boats.
Boats might have steering wheels, and there might be speedometers, and many things like that that would make it easier to handle, and also more car-like, since the use of boats would increase significantly.
Another thing that might change is the fact that people wouldn’t be able to walk. They might invent some sort of ‘floating shoes’ or something, and so you might be able to walk on water, but otherwise, it would be kind of hard.
Swimming lessons might also be mandatory, since there would be a lot bigger chance that someone might drown.
What would you do if you woke up in another country and no one could understand you?
If I woke up one day in another country, and no one could understand the words I spoke, I would try to use actions to indicate what happened to me. I might look around for something that was english, and then I’d know the person that wrote the english spoke english too.
If I couldn’t find anyone that spoke english, I’d just walk around wherever I was and try to figure it out, or just go back to sleep and assume it was a dream. And then, if I woke up again and it wasn’t a dream, I’d probably look for some kind of internet café, and then if they had computers there that were in english, I would try to email my parents or something.
I wish I had a million ______. Then I would ____...
I wish I had a million houses that were worth a million dollars each. Then, if I sold them all I’d have $1,000,000,000,000. So I’d have a trillion dollars! Which would be totally awesome, you’d have to admit. Or maybe I’d have a million houses that were worth a trillion dollars each.
Thanks!

Lalala...

It is also a source for news, local news, and sometimes things that are happening locally wouldn’t be able to be shown. Televison is also the source of much informational shows, like of nature. Kids would gain more education from no television but also lose some education, for some kids like hearing instead of reading.
For example, I was living in San Diego when the recent San Diego fires happened. On the Sunday before they had started, it had looked like there was a lot of smoke, and it had smelled like smoke too, but our family had just assumed it was fog. Also, some people may lose their jobs as TV actors and actresses. The actors can only act upon a stage, and not many people may stop to watch it. There would be less entertainment.
Very nice. I think this one is good. You could add what impact it could have on the economy, how the news would get around, what benefits of education may come out of this and how would it effect the entire world without this big source of entertainment, for videos might not exist without the creation of TV.

Then again, something like that existed once. They had canals as streets in which they had a personal driver, steering the boat with the paddles. The sidewalks still existed and the houses were still lodged into cements, but instead of concrete streets and cars, there were canals and canoes.
I think it would give a romantic feeling, like in France.
But then there is also the duty of making sure the streets/canals are clean and not polluted. That is a big responsibility, for people will be on the roads 24/7 and you always have to find a time to clean it, unless theres a vent system installed.
I'm sure it'll benefit the enviroment as well, seeing as we can reuse the water over and over again.
You do know that streets like that once existed, yes? I'd say you can say what feeling it would give, what benefits come from it, what are the disadvantages, and what jobs will be given to care for the roads. (Road workers :])

There's a small chance that nobody speaks english though. English is sorta a worldwide language, and a lot of people know a bit, so it'd be hard finding somebody who didn't know.
If I couldn’t find anyone that spoke english, I’d just walk around wherever I was and try to figure it out, or just go back to sleep and assume it was a dream. But if I couldn't find an internet cafe or a laptop of any sort I'd probably walk around and try to find a restaurant, for their logos and signs are pretty easy to depict. I would always need food to survive, and if I had money I'd buy something with it.
What would happen if there were no laptops? Think of it as one of those survival activities, except without any materials except money probably. What would you do to survive if you ended up staying there for a whole week?

I can't find anything to put in. xD I think it is clever to get a million five story houses and sell them for money. But what if nobody wanted to buy them? What else would you want? And if you sell them all what would you live in? xD
If you got that money from the houses, what would you do with it? Give it to your family, keep it to yourself, blow it on games, become the richest person in the world, or be nice by donating the money to charities and to the homeless?
The first two are pretty good I think. I can't think of much for the last one but I hope I helped. XD

Re: More Language Arts Help?
Wow. Thanks to you, my warm-ups are now three pages long. They're normally only about a page long. Usually a bit less, in fact. Thanks!
