Amy
I stared in shock. "Are you wilting?" I asked. I didn't want her to wilt, nor did I want to disappear.

Iris
"I hope not..." I sighed, examining the fallen petal. "...I don't want to wilt! Then again I don't want you to disappear."

Amy
None of us wanted to disappear from life, one way or the other.

"I thought you were magical!" I whined. "You're not supposed to wilt..."

Iris
"I dunno... I guess I'm not really magical..."

Amy
"You must be magical though! You granted my wish!" At least... I think... she did, right?

Iris
"I'm beginning to wonder if that was really me..."

Amy
"You must have! I mean, come on, you did say Humuhumunukunukuapua'a!"

Iris
"I didn't expect it to work..."

Amy
"It must have!"

Iris
"I made it up though!"

Amy
"It still could have worked!" I argued back. "Uugh... there's no point in arguing now. We have to enjoy our time, right?"

Iris
"Yeaaah..." I sighed as another petal started to fall.

Amy
I stared at the petal, unable to look up. I really was afraid that I'd see Iris sad if my eyes met hers.

Why were we both disappearing? Where was our hope?


The flower has lost most of her petals for an unknown reason. Could it possibly be that she never was magical in the first place? The fox is slowly becoming one with the many voices of the wind. Why, she wonders, did it end up this sad? Where was the happy ending?

The wind is ready to take the glass fox into their hospitality. The snow is steadily falling down, and the moon shines brilliantly in the night. The setting is beautiful, yet the situation is full of gloom.

Amy
Where was our hope; our faith? I had stayed up all night dwelling on this thought, unable to have fallen asleep. I stared at the many twinkling stars. Had they granted my wish? I don't know... but I wish they'd grant one more wish for me.

"I don't want Iris to wilt." I whispered quietly to myself. I heard the flower stir behind me. My eyes shifted.

Iris
"Are you awake?" I asked Amy. "I'm not feeling well."

Amy
"Ah, yeah. I'm awake." I said, looking over to her. "I couldn't sleep, and I've been thinking this whole time. But that doesn't matter, I suppose. What do you mean you aren't feeling well? Are you sick?"

Iris
"I don't know. I feel like I'm losing water or something. I think I'm drying up."

Amy
"Noooo! Did the manager change your water? I didn't see!"

Iris
"I hope not..." I said, worried.

Amy
"I'm... concerned. For you. I think I know why I'm disappearing, and I'll accept the fact that I am. I know that if I disappear, I'll disappear. But not from life, I'll just stay forever unseen. But you... you're fading from life."

Iris
"I hope I don't die..."

Amy
"I don't want you die. I don't care if I fade, but my wish is for you not to fade." I said.

Iris
"I don't want you to fade. I don't care if I fade, but my wish is for you not to fade." I said.

Amy
"I think I understand why I've been fading and why the spell reversed with me changing colors." I said. "Would you... hear me out?"

Iris
"Duhhhh... go on?"

Amy
"It's trying to find the color of faith." I said. When I didn't hear Iris respond, I continued. "Many times Miku has told me "Do you think you'll be like Faith?" There was a reason that fairy was called Faith. Even though she had disappeared and even though she's forgotten, she is faith. She is there to give people hope. I think it's sorta the same for me... even though I'm fading and even though I'll be gone, I'll be there and I'll be hope."
