"Cool! Thanks!" I said, quickly climbing up the ladder.

Dalene
"No problem!" I said as the others climbed up.

Eliza A.
"Oh my gosh, like, welcome aboard!" I said. "You guys can totally go in there." I motioned to a door.

Kimi
"Hey, don't you think we should introduce ourselves, or let them introduce themselves?"

Seramic
"Right. I'm Seramic, Amy's brother."

Eliza A.
"Oh, we're having a meeting, you can totally introduce yourselves there to everyone!" I pointed at the big table in the next room where everyone was sitting.

Kimi
"Oh yes." I said. "Come on in everyone."

Dalene
I introduced myself. "I'm Dalene Novak, leader of the Gyptians.

Eliza
"Eliza A, dudes!"


((I'm lazy. Pretend all my other characters introduced themselves.))

Kimi
"Kimi Kiire, and this is Mimi." I said, motioning to my daemon.

Seramic
"Um... I already said this but, I'm Seramic Fawkes, Amy's brother."

Dalene
"All right, well, you know someone else that was kidnapped - Amy Fawkes, right? My daughter Stephanie was also kidnapped. We know that the Magistirium is behind a lot of this that is going on."

Seramic
"We should save her as well as my sister." I said, determined.

Dalene
"That's the plan. Also, with her help," I motioned to Iris, "We should be able to find out where their hideout is."

Iris
"Huh? What? Why me?"

Seramic
"Why her?"

Cephei
"Whatever! We have to hurry!" I said suddenly. "She must have not a lot of time! Her daemon is with her, they could be experimenting with it right now!"

((Daemons turn into dust, right? I think I remember that from the movie, but it isn't clear since I watched it years ago.))

Dalene
"You are Amy's daemon?"

Cephei
I nodded, still clinging onto Seramic's arm and under his sleeve.

Dalene
"That's good. They didn't get her daemon."

Eliza
"Soo... Iris! You have the Alethiometer."

Iris
I gasped. "How did you know?"

Kimi
"We should inform her about the compass." I told Dalene.

Dalene
"Right. Iris, you have the Alethiometer, a fabled object that can tell you anything that you ask for. Only one person in our world can read it right now. The witches have told us that you are the one that can."

Seramic
I was surprised. "Her? She can read the last Alethiometer in the world?"

Iris
"Nuh-uh. You have the wrong person."

Dalene
"Try reading it."

Iris
"I don't even know how!"

Dalene
"Just try."

Iris
"Okay..." I took it out.

Seramic
"If she doesn't know how to read it, how would she?"

Dalene
"I've heard it comes as an instinct."

Iris
"There are little symbols on it."

Dalene
"You're supposed to ask it a question."

Iris
"Uh, is my name Iris Flower?" I looked at it for a moment. "It's like a clock, pointing to different symbols. What am I supposed to do, just clear my mind or something like that?"

Kimi
"Yes. Do exactly that. And then try once again."

Iris
"Okay."I tried to clear my mind, and then examined the Compass carefully. And then these weird pictures entered my head, sort of my thoughts, but they didn't seem to be my own. "Okay, it says my name is Iris Flower."

Kimi
"She read it." I said. "She... really can read it."

Iris
"I guess..."

Kimi
"I think... you can ask it what the gobblers are doing."
