"I'm sorry! I'm just... worried."

Iris
"Me too." I admitted.

Amy
"I wonder..." I trailed off.

Iris
"That?"

Amy
"Huh?" I said, snapping back to focus. "That?"

Iris
"You wonder that what?"

Amy
"Oh... nothing. Just... nothing." I said. "I'm sleepy. Good night." I said.

Iris
"G'night."

Amy
I had stayed awake all night. What if... what if I actually did disappear? I wouldn't be able to say goodbye. I wouldn't be able to smile again. I wouldn't be able to be seen. I would be forgotten. I didn't want that.

My eyes were rather wide and a bit fearful. I didn't want any of that.

The morning rays of the sun peeked out from the horizon. The morning rays... that meant hope.

I tried to see if the light was reflecting on my glass snout. I didn't really... see anything. I didn't see myself. I was already scared out of my mind.

"O... Opal." I said quietly to the small opal jewel. "...what color am I today?"

I awoke and turned toward her. "You... you're... fading."

I only hoped for everything but that. Those rays of hope held no hope for me. None. I was fading. Disappearing from life.

"Iris..." I said quietly, tears swelling up in my eyes. "I... don't want to go away."

Iris
"You're fading." I said. I had faked myself sleeping, I had been unable to get a wink of sleep. "Amy! Don't go!" I said rather loudly, waking everyone up.

"What's the ruckus?" I asked. "...why is Amy...?"

Amy
"I don't want to go either! I don't want to fade!"

Iris
"Don't fade!"

Amy
"It's not my choice! It's... fate."

Iris
"You can avoid it!"

Amy
"How? Destiny you can avoid; you can take another path. Fate you can't avoid; it's all decided!"

Iris
"...you can change your fate. How would you know what's decided?"

Amy
"...I don't know..."

Iris
"Don't fade! Please!"

Amy
"...I want to enjoy my time right now. I might be going!"

Iris
"Uh, let's play a game?"

Amy
"Like what?"

Iris
"So I say a word, then you say a word. Like if I say apple, you say everything because it starts with an e and that's the last letter of apple. And then I say green and you say none and I say elephant and you say type."

"Oh! Shiritori?"

"...I don't call it that but whatever. You start."

"...what do you call it then?" I asked. "Oh... ok. Shiritori."
