Prove me wrong

Alright, this is a story that anybody could write.

Outline

1. What you don't believe; what will be proved wrong to the character
2. The situation. It can be supernatural or just coincidental!
3. Conclusion; what the character learned from the experience.

Simple as that. ;D



I believed that there was no god. I believed that stuff doesn’t exist because of these magical forces. That didn’t make sense. Magic doesn’t exist.
My name is Akuno Tsukiyomi. I believe in no hope, I believe in no miracles, I believe in no god, and I dare you to prove me wrong.



“And then I knew that it was a miracle!” Kira grinned. “God must have granted it for me, I swear!”
“Yeah, right. Kira, god doesn’t exist,” Akuno said in turn, “and so don’t miracles. It must have been a coincidence.”
“Oh, Akuno, you! God does exist! It was no coincidence! I swear!” Kira retorted. “Maybe God will do you a favor and will find your family for you!”
“I wouldn’t count on it.” Akuno turned away. “Let’s get to class; we’re going to be late.”

Akuno had been taken away from her family quite some time ago. At a very young age, she had run away with her father. Then she was taken away and brought to a country across the world. She knew her brother and sister were there, and her quest was to find them.
She didn’t believe in god. She was taught not to hope. Hopes can always fail; that is what she was told. Akuno didn’t need a god’s help to find her family… right?

“I’m going home.” Akuno said, waving goodbye to Kira as she started to walk toward the direction of the orange sun.
She walked alone. She passed an electronic store, hearing a very familiar voice. Looking in the window, she only saw that the TV screen had been speaking to her. Yet, at the same time, it was somebody she knew. On the TV, her long lost sister sung a song. Not any song though… she felt it was about her.
“The wailing of the Blue Moon doesn’t end
Swallowing up in the deep darkness
Although nothing will change, I’ll still love you
Even if sky will also be torn someday
I’ll think of you for eternity.”
Akuno knew it was about her… maybe her sister didn’t know that herself, but she knew it was about her. Akuno was the blue moon of that song.
She was happy. She was happy that she’d found her sister, if only through a TV screen.

It was late night already. Akuno looked outside the window. In the moon stood a silhouette of a black cat. As quickly as she had seen it appear, it dashed off and became one with the night. It reminded her of her brother; he was just like a cat always trying to hide from any peering eyes.


Who knows, there may be a god after all. He might be giving a message. He might be granting me a miracle. He might be… giving me hope.



Hah! I don’t need to do that; I’ll just get my butler to do it for me! I’m a queen; nothing should be hard for me!
My name is Kimiko Ou, and I want you to do everything for me! Oh, please, just try to prove me wrong!



“Miss Ou? You have a book report to do.” the butler said.
“Do it for me!” Kimiko demanded. “I don’t need to do the book report! It’s useless. But, to keep my grades up, I have to. But I don’t want to, so do it for me.”
“Very well, madam.” the butler said.
“It better be good, too!” Kimiko shouted as the butler walked off.

It was only the next morning that everything turned around. Only the most unnatural thing happened: Kimiko had turn into a butterfly.

Kimiko mumbled and opened her eyes. She found herself wrapped in a nice blanket that was twitching, and trapped inside a smooth silk cocoon.
Kimiko examined herself for a while, finding that she was unable to move. She saw that the blanket was wings. They had a very beautiful design, in fact. She finally figured it out: she was a butterfly.
Kimiko couldn’t wait to get out and tell her butler all about it. She pushed her way through the cocoon, although only her wings made its way out. She struggled and struggled. “Butler!” she shouted, but then realized that she could not be heard.
Kimiko’s butler explored the garden. Eventually he came across the cocoon and the struggling butterfly. It seemed familiar to him, but he simply watched the butterfly that was ready to fly. Kimiko struggled, but simply could not get out. She gave up. The butler, seeing that the small insect had no more strength to push its way out, decided to open the cocoon for the butterfly. He snipped open a bigger opening.
Kimiko beamed. Although… there was something wrong. She couldn’t fly from her cocoon. Instead she dropped to the floor. Finally, seeing her body she was frightened. It wasn’t like a regular butterfly’s; no, it was big and swollen, and her wings were small and crippled.
The butler was shocked. He hadn’t meant to leave the poor butterfly crippled. The butterfly started to crawl around. Truly, it was devastating to never experience the joy of flying.



Alright, alright. I’ve learned my lesson. There really are some struggles in life you had to go through yourself. As a butterfly, you have to get out of the cocoon yourself or else the fluid from the body would not go to the wings, and the wings can never grow. I could not have somebody tell me how it was to fly; I need to do it myself.

Be creative. She doesn't need to find true love, she can just learn that it's true? xD

Yeah, maybe.

Something like "Our relationship may seem like the perfect one, but it's just a facade, a front. True love doesn't exist. I don't think I'll ever find "the one" because I don't think "the one" exists.
My name is [blank.] I don't believe in true love, and I really hope you can prove me wrong."

That's good.

I'm trying to find a new thing for a Prove Me Wrong story, but I'm stuck.

I plan on using all of our improv characters, if I can.

I dunno what to do...
